2 Years

Blake turned 2 yesterday! CRAZY how fast the past two years have gone! Our little guy loves to run around and be silly...he's our wild child, for sure. He gets very hyper when he knows he is the center of attention and somehow manages to find all kinds of energy right before nap and bedtime! He definitely knows what he wants and is quite vocal if he doesn't get his way! Some of his favorite activities are playing with trucks, going for bike rides, playing at the park/playground, and swimming. He loves singing songs and reading books too.

We celebrated Blake's birthday with a party with our families on Sunday. He is obsessed with Disney Cars, so we had a Cars themed party including a Lightning McQueen birthday cake!

Last night I took Blake to the mall to the play area since it was raining and Eric had class. He had so much fun running around, jumping from one thing to another! He also got to ride the carousel and a Mickey Mouse car! We had a fun night!

Big Boy Haircut and 18 Month Pictures

Blake had his first haircut on Feb. 17...he looks like such a little boy with it! He definitely didn't like getting it cut, but my cousin did a great job of getting it done quickly while he cried!

Busy Summer

We've had a busy, fun-filled summer and I can hardly believe it is already Labor Day! We've spent lots of time outside this summer! We've taken bike rides and trips to the park. We've spent time at Hess Lake, Silver Lake, and Lake Michigan. We've had play dates, pool time, and even went Downtown Holland for the Street Performers. In the middle of all of this, Blake turned 1, has started taking steps, and has begun to build his vocabulary (truck, ball, uh-oh, wee, boat, clock, pretty (pretty = flowers)). Below are some highlights from the summer...

After having to reschedule Blake's 1 year pictures (he fell and hit his head on the spindles for the stairs), we were able to get them done last night. He had a little bit of stranger anxiety at first and then decided he'd rather play than get his pictures taken...thankfully she was able to get a few good ones!
