Hocus Pocus

Since Eric and I do not want to find out what the sex of our baby is when we go in for our ultra sound in two weeks, we decided to go old school at work today! One of my co-workers got the instructions for using a string and pencil to determine the sex of this baby along with the sexes of each additional child we will have someday. According to this theory (or hocus pocus as my boss called it), this baby is a boy and is the first of 4 pregnancies for me! If this theory is correct, I will have a boy, then a girl, then another boy, then another girl...just like my family! My boss decided to perform his own test...flipping a coin. According to his test, we're having a girl. We'll have to see who's test was correct! (And they say accountants don't know how to have fun at work!)

Not Much New

Not a whole lot has been going on with us lately. Unfortunately, it seems like Eric works on the weekends when I'm actually home, so we haven't had much excitement lately! I'm continuing to feel great and have started feeling the baby move a little bit. I have had to make the move to mostly wearing maternity clothes since only a few sweaters and sweatshirts still fit, so a HUGE thank-you to my mother-in-law for taking me shopping and to Katie, Missy, and Vicki for lending me some of your clothes!

This past weekend I did take advantage of the fact that Eric had to work and got some quality scrapbooking done! I spent Friday night at a Creative Memories crop with Holly and then continued scrapbooking Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night Rebecca came over for a little more scrapbooking! I'm determined I need to be caught up by the time the baby comes, but got discouraged when I realized how many pictures I actually have to put into the scrapbook! Hopefully I can keep being motivated and get it done!

Joining the Masses!

We finally decided to join our friends and start a blog now that we have something (or someone) to write about! We are really excited about the changes in our lives and are looking forward to meeting our little one this summer!

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 16 week checkup. My doctor had a hard time finding our little one's heartbeat and every time she found it, he or she would move and she'd have to start all over looking for it! When she finally found it for a long enough time period to get the heart rate, it was in the 140's. When I was in at 12 weeks, the heart rate was 160. We have our ultrasound scheduled for March 12 and I cannot wait to get to our first peek at our baby! We will not be finding out the sex, we want that to be a surprise!

Eric kept himself busy that last couple weeks getting the nursery prepped. He pulled out all the floorboards, filled in lots of little holes in the walls, sanded, painted, cut, stained and varnished new trim and installed that in the room! The room looks great and now we just need to start getting the furniture to put in it!

This is what the room looked like the night we got the paint. Eric couldn't wait to get home and see how the color looked on the walls!
