Setting up the Nursery

This past weekend, besides enjoying the beautiful weather, Eric and I set up the crib in the nursery! Getting all the pieces out of the box made a huge mess in the room, but once we got it all cleaned out again, we were able to put the crib together fairly quickly!
I'm very happy with the way the crib looks in the room and am very excited to actually have the crib and dresser/changing table both in the room! Saturday afternoon I decided to put the bedskirt and bumper pads in the crib even though we don't have the mattress yet. I put the comforter in the bed as well and put together the mobile! I'm excited to start getting other items for the room and to start putting things up on the walls, but at least it's starting to look ready for the baby!

25 Week Update

I went to the doctor this week and everything is continuing to look great! Our little one's heart rate was in the 150's, so sorry for anyone who is trying to guess the sex by the heart rate...this one's kind of in the middle :o) My next appointment I get to do the lovely glucose test that I hear is so much fun (or not)!

Back in Michigan

We got home from Florida late Saturday night. Our week went by way too fast, but that always seems to be the case with vacations! We had some rain on Monday, so Eric and I explored the island and did a little shopping. Tuesday was cool and windy, so we headed to St. Armands Circle to do some shopping. The rest of the week the weather was nice again, so we spent lots of time on the beach relaxing!

I also reached 24 weeks on Wednesday while we were in Florida, so Eric had to take my pictures at the condo :)
The nice thing was that my family was around, so Eric could be in a picture with me!
Here's our "family picture" with over half the family missing!
We were able to watch the sunset Thursday night and it was beautiful!
On Friday, the wind was strong enough that it broke the umbrella that I had been using for shade, so in order to cool off we went in the ocean for a while. The good thing about the wind is that there were decent sized waves to play in!

We're in Florida!

We made it to Florida without any problems! We drove to Flint on Friday morning and flew to Atlanta around noon. In Atlanta, we had an hour layover and then were on to Tampa. We had no issues on the plane at all. My doctor had made me slightly worried about getting motion sickness on the plane and had even said experiencing contractions was a possibility, so I was thrilled to not have any problems!

We drove to Ellenton (near Bradenton/Sarasota) Friday night where we checked into our hotel and went to the outlet mall. I found a Motherhood outlet, so that made me excited :) This is the same outlet mall I shopped at in college when I came to Ellenton on the GVSU Sarasota Spring Break trip!!! We shopped for a little while and then got dinner and went back to the hotel.
The view from our hotel in Ellenton.

Saturday we headed back to the outlet mall for a little while and then went to a farmer's market. We couldn't get into our condo on Anna Maria Island until after 3, so it was nice to kill some time! Our condo is really nice and across the street from the beach!

Eric and I at the outlet mall.
Today we slept in (I was exhausted from all the walking around yesterday) and then headed to the beach. The weather was beautiful with sunshine, mid-80's, and a nice breeze so we didn't get too hot at the beach! Eric and I got fried so we'll see how much time we spend at the beach tomorrow.

I don't have my laptop with me, so I'm using my sister's Mac...which means I have NO idea how to get my pictures on here. If I can figure out how to get some pictures off my camera and on to the computer, I'll post some!

Furniture and Registering - Check!

We finally made work of picking out our furniture for the nursery and registering! Eric and I went to Babies R Us two Saturdays ago to get our furniture and register...well, I forgot the coupon for the furniture and they didn't have it in stock, so we registered, but didn't get furniture! I went back on Tuesday after work and ordered the crib and the dresser/changing table (and yes, I remembered the coupon this time!). They told me it would be 7-14 days before we could the furniture would arrive, so I was just hoping it would come in before we leave for Florida...well, I was shocked to get a call Friday afternoon that it was in!

Thursday night my mom went to Target with me to do some more registering. I was grateful to have her there to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything...and she was even nice enough to pick out things for me to scan while I was on the phone! I know I registered for some socks...I'm just not sure what they look like :)
Saturday, Eric and I borrowed his dad's truck and headed back out to Babies R Us to pick up the furniture...we were shocked by how big the boxes were! We strapped the boxes in and headed back to Eric's parents' house to get his dad because there was no way he would be able to get it all in the house without any help and I definitely was not going to be able to lift it!

The box for the dresser was so big that I recommended they open it in the living room so that they could get rid of some of the weight...needless to say, we had a bit of a mess in the living room!
They did get the dresser into the room and I am so excited just to have furniture in there and to make it start looking like a nursery! The crib is still in the box. I'm very excited for this to get put together so we can get the room looking even more like a nursery!

Great Wolf

This past weekend we went to Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City with my family. We had a great time hanging out and getting to relax! We spent a lot of time in the kiddie pool with our oldest niece, Breanna. She wasn't too sure of the slides at first, but eventually she decided she loved them and we had to spend hours catching her at the bottom of them!
I did go down a couple of the slides a few times as well and spent lots more time in the lazy river! I was also running around with my camera quite frequently :) It was the first time I really got to use my new camera, so I took full advantage of it! Eric also enjoyed going down the slides, hanging out in the lazy river and kiddie pools with me, and playing the Wii with my brothers and dad!
Our youngest niece, Allison, was too little to play in the water and didn't really like getting wet when we put her in it. She does love peek-a-boo...here's a picture of her playing it with my sister.

Halfway Point

As of Wednesday, I am 20 weeks which means I am at the halfway point in my pregnancy! Time seems like it is flying by and I can't believe that in 20 more weeks we will be meeting our little one!

Here is a picture of me taken Wednesday night.

We had our ultrasound today! We loved getting to see our little one for the first time! The doctor said everything looked good and that the baby seems to be developing as he/she should be. We were able to see both hands and feet along with the face, spine, heart, stomach, and bladder. We were able to see him/her swallow and bring his/her hand up to his/her mouth. It was truly amazing! I don't feel the baby move a whole lot, so it was fun to see how he/she was positioned inside of me! Here's a picture of our little one!

The baby is currently weighing in at 12 ounces and measuring for a due date of July 31. Since my due date we've been going by is only 2 days earlier, July 29, they aren't changing my official due date, but I was warned that there is a chance that I may go a couple days overdue. We'll just have to wait and see!

This weekend we're off to Great Wolf Lodge with my family. I'm looking forward to a weekend away and a chance to relax and spend some time with my nieces!
